Why So Much Trouble?

John 14:1
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.” NASB
It seems that everywhere that I look at in my life, there are troubles. From cancer to rehab to marriage problems and on and on, trouble is everywhere. Many of us feel very overwhelmed and lost when life is like this.
Jesus tells us not to be troubled. How do you do this when your friend has cancer and your brother in law is dying? When your son won’t speak to you unless it is very hateful? He points us to belief in God the Father and in Him. So, you say that you believe in God and Jesus, but how does that help the trouble? Our Father wants to take our burdens. In Matthew, Jesus says that we are to cast our cares on Him. That means to put whatever the trouble or troubles in His capable hands. God already knows about it. He wants us to give it to Him for His answer in our lives.
If you are like me, I know this principle already. My problem is that I put it in His hands and then take it right back through worry or my solution to the problem. We have to give it up which frees us to hear God’s perfect answer. When I do this right, I am always amazed at what God shows to be His will and how well it works. You see, dear friend, when we get in line with God’s will amazing things can and will happen. Not our will Lord but Yours in all that we do!
The important part here is the surrender of it to God and us getting out of the way. Yes, we get in God’s way by our will and solutions.
Dear friends, please give it to God. He can handle your troubles. He will meet your needs. He will show you His way in it. One of my favorite things that I have ever heard from God is, “I got this!” Thank you, Lord for Your love and way for our lives.
The following verse encourages us further:
Psalms 9:9
The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. NASB
