Praise and Thanksgiving

Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him and praise His name. NLT

I’ve seen a lot of people giving thanks this past few weeks.  It is a good thing to do.  My question is why are we only thankful at this time of year?  We live better than the rest of the world.  We have freedoms that do not exist anywhere else in the world.  And yet many times, we are not satisfied and thankful.

Last week, I found out that I did not get something that I really wanted.  My daughter was really upset about it because it went to someone that we both do not like.  You see I did it all right.  I did not go into debt for it.  I placed it at the foot of the cross and God said no.  I accept that.  I praise God that I did not get it.  His will is perfect even in this.  I told my daughter that God has a better plan in this than we can see.  I believe this and thank Him that He protected me in this!

We should praise God and be thankful every day.  Even when things do not go as we wanted.  Praise Him!

We serve a big God who loves us and provides for us.  He knows best for us.  He is worthy to be praised.   His name is wonderful, counselor, Father, friend, husband or wife.  Every day we should be humbled by all that He does for us.  We must praise Him in all things!

I do not like not getting my way, but I know that His way is perfect.  Life has taught me that one day I will look back on this situation and know what and how God perfectly protected me in this situation.

Please friend, turn everything in your life over to God.  He will direct your steps and make your life wonderful.

Hebrews 13:15

Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name.  NLT
