Fooling God

Do you know people who say that they are doing God’s will, but the action that they take is not God’s will? Many, many times over the years, people do much wrong they claim in the name of Jesus.
Yesterday, I watched the movie about a black man who was a butler to the Presidents of our country for decades. It is a very thought provoking movie that deals with the civil rights struggle, politics and values. The one thing that really struck me was the way JFK was portrayed. He was held up as a great civil rights leader which he was, but we know about how he had affairs right in the White House with women other than Jackie. How can JFK be so great in one area and so bad in another? He was human, just as we all are.
The question for all of us is what kind of person or character do we want to be? We must strive to be honest about who we are because God already knows your weaknesses. He made us and sees all so if we say one thing and do another, we only fool ourselves. Will we fail? Yes, possibility many times, but if we really seek the Kingdom of God, we will eventually get it right. If at first you don’t succeed, then try again!
Our relationship with Jesus is a marathon not a sprint. We must determine to finish well. It will take our entire lives. We will stumble, but we must get back up and keep trying.
I do not like fools. I especially do not want to be one. God will and can help each of us to see the areas on our lives that need to change. He will help us and be faithful to us while we figure it out. Dear friend, please let our Lord help you today to be what He wants you to be. You will not regret it!
