God’s Healing

Jeremiah 33:6
Behold, I will bring it health and healing, and I will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth. NLT
I know God can physically heal because of my friend Theresa who had only a slight chance of surviving her type of cancer. She is cancer free now for 6 months. Praise the Lord!
I have other friends fighting ALS and MS. Where is their healing? Why does God heal one and not the other?
Many years ago, I heard a sermon on healing. In it the preacher states that there are 5 types of healing that God does. We always ask and want physical healing which is one. The others are emotional healing, spiritual healing, peace and death.
How can peace be healing? If you are at peace with the situation which is trusting God in the sickness, you are content and at rest with the situation. I have seen people with the supernatural peace and it is a healing thing.
How can death be healing? We live in a fallen world that has much evil and unfairness in it. To be taken home to heaven is the ultimate healing.
I believe that it is important to be specific with the type of healing that we are praying for. Don’t just ask for healing for a person who is sick. Specifically name and call out the illness that must be healed. It is also important to find verses in the Bible about healing and speak them over the person. Which ones? There are many but I will list a few for your review:
- II Timothy 1:7
- Psalms 118:17
- Proverbs 3:8
The verse of the week says:
Psalms 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. NLT
