He Holds You

1 Peter 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him. NASB
I really do not like waiting on God. I know that His timing is perfect, but I like to plan in advance and waiting for God to move can be very frustrating to me. Have you ever felt like this? Please think about the thing or things that only God can do for you and how long you have been waiting in faith for His way. Now you are with me.
The verse from 1 Peter was in my reading this morning. It reminded me that we must remain humble while we wait on our mighty God. Humble means that we lower ourselves to God’s will and timing. We bow and wait on Him. We will have anxiety while we wait. We are to lay these things at the foot of the cross. The verse says to cast it. This is something that we may have to do every minute of every day until we let go of it and let God have it.
When we can finally release it, then we can focus on what God is doing in our lives now. It frees us to hear from God and gives God the burden. Thank you Lord!
I was reminded by a friend recently that God’s timing is perfect. Since I like to plan in advance, this can be difficult for me. God will take care of me and my needs, but He will do it in His time not by mine. It almost seems like we have a last minute God! I prefer the term, a right on time God.
My friend whatever you are facing today be it financial concerns, health issues, loss of a loved one or relationship, please give it to God. Leave it with Him and ask for His will and way in it. Let go and let God.
I love to visualize God holding me. I feel very safe and comfortable in His arms. He has you in His strong and capable arms today. Will you allow Him to just hold you?
The following verse further encourages us:
Isaiah 41:10 & 13
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, Do not fear, I will help you. NASB
